René Iché. Works, writings, interviews.

This previously unpublished monograph by renowned art critic Sarane Alexandrian (1927-2009) on modern sculptor René Iché (1897-1954) is his last biographical essay, written shortly before his death.

Tracing Iché's career as a committed figure of the first half of the 20th century, Alexandrian analyzes and provides essential keys to understanding the art of a sculptor whose works offer several levels of interpretation.

The book also includes texts and manifestos by René Iché, as well as interviews with the artist from the INA and Lettres françaises archives. These texts are bilingual in French and English, and scientific appendices complete the monograph.

This work was supported by ADAGP and the René Iché archives.

The monograph is available for purchase at Galerie Pauline Pavec in Paris or online, on the Surréalismus website.
